Holiday Region Mayrhofen / Brandberg

THE VILLAGE BRANDBERG

Brandberg, also known as the sun village, is a small, cosy holiday village on the south slope of the "Zillergrund" tributary valley. The Zillergrund, the centre of the High Mountain Nature Park Zillertal Alps", is considered one of the most beautiful parts of the Zillertal. Equally imposing is the village's local mountain, the "Brandberger Kolm".

At about 1,080 m altitude, the small village, surrounded by meadows in bloom and dark-green woods, offers its visitors their well-earned rest and reprieve from everyday stress. For a long time, nature was the only factor in people's lives here, and this can still be seen, especially by observing the mountain farmers on one of the many hikes, for exambple on a hike along the "Bergmähderweg" ("mountain meadow trail").

Ranging from easy hiking paths to extreme mountain tours, there is something for every hiker and nature lover. About 85 km of trails are available to choose from around Brandberg.

THE HOLIDAY REGION MAYRHOFEN IN SUMMER

In the summer months, when the white slopes become lush green alpine pastures, an extensive paradise for walkers, bikers, and climbers unfolds in the holiday region of Mayrhofen in the Ziller valley.

Long before tourism arrived in the Zillertal, alpinists had genuine "peak" experiences here. The Zillertal Alps National Park, an proteced area on the Zillertal high ridge (1,000 - 3,509 m altitude) encompassing 372 km2, is full of lasting impressions - with almost 80 glaciers, three large reservoirs, as well as several mountain and coomb lakes, the landscape extends over all altitudes of the inner Alps.
